SRI LANKA

HOW TO RESERVE A PROJECT
  1. Check the list of currently available opportunities by clicking on “Opportunities to Serve” on the right hand menu.
  2. “Reserve” the project you want by clicking the “Sign In” or “Reserve”(if you are already signed in) button at the bottom of the desired project page. You will receive step-by-step instructions. Please sign up for only one project at a time.
  3. Projects will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Realize, though, that more than one person or group may “reserve” a project before the Project Manager is able to review and give approval. The Project Manager will contact you via phone or e-mail to let you know the status of the project.
  4. Once a project is assigned, each team member will need to sign in to the web site and “reserve” the approved project. This will create the team list. (This step may also be accomplished by the team leader’s adding each member’s information.) Very Important: Make sure full name is entered as it appears (or will appear) on your passport.
  5. Total basic cost for the project is $1,800. This covers air travel, lodging, food, in-country transportation, travel insurance, T-shirt, orientation materials, and more. Each team member will submit (through the team leader) a deposit for $500 per person. This must be received by the NCBM Office no later than 60 days (2 months) prior to your departure. Make checks out to the Baptist State Convention of NC, and send to PO Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512. Make sure to put the project number (found on the “project name” - i.e. SL7-045) on the check memo. The remaining $1,300 per person, must be received no later than 30 days (1 month) prior t departure. Very Important: NCBM will arrange all travel. Travel cannot be arranged until the $500 per person deposit is received. It is most helpful if the team leader collects and sends in funds for the entire team instead of individuals sending in checks.
  6. Orientation manuals will be sent to the team leader upon receipt of team’s deposits. As time draws nearer for your team’s service in Sri Lanka, the team leader will be put in contact with our on-site coordinators for correspondence about specifics that may not be covered in the orientation manual.
  7. A report / evaluation form is available in the “resources” section of the project description. We ask that they be completed and sent back to our office. This information will assist us in preparing for future projects, keeping records on completed mission assignments, and evaluating the accomplishments of the Partnership.
