SPECIAL CAMPS Camp Angel Tree
2008 marks the 17th summer the North Carolina Baptist Men's Department and Prison Fellowship of North Carolina will co-sponsor a week of camp a Caraway for 120 boys, ages 9-13,who have a parent in prison. The date for this year's camp is June 29 - July 2. Camp Angel Tree has effectively touched the lives of many young boys in the past four years by introducing them to Jesus Christ through time spent with positive Christian male role models. You can help us break the cycle of crime by introducing these boys to Jesus Christ at Camp Caraway. Cost of sponsoring a boy for a week at camp is $100. One of our greatest needs is for volunteers to provide transportation from the boy's home to camp and back. We would like for there to be a one to one ratio in order to provide volunteers a better chance to get to know the boys. We have also found it more effective to pick the boys up at their residence as opposed to a pick-up point. It is our hope that a connection can be made with these boys that will lead to their involvement in a local church once the camp session is over.
